Most people dealing with stress don't even know there is a problem until it's threatening to take over. The real problem with stress is that the symptoms are so diverse as are the reactions of people suffering from it. If you learn to recognize the symptoms of stress faster you'll be able to treat it sooner. This article hopes to help by pointing out some of the common stress symptoms people experience.

Stress can be a common result of you feeling an overall lack of energy or frequent bouts of fatigue. Experiencing stress can be physically and mentally tiring. If we're worn out due to stress, sitting at your desk or even driving through traffic are very hard.

Fatigue can also be caused by stress interfering with your sleep. If you continue to experience a great deal of stress fatigue will become a regular symptom you have. If stress is depleting your energy, you should start looking for ways to reduce it.

Stress also makes it more difficult for you to think clearly. The ability to make calm and collected decisions is seriously impaired when you're under a great deal of pressure. Your mind may be moving a mile a minute but your ability to make decisions that are based on reason rather than emotion is impaired because you can't focus on the thoughts long enough to come to those types of conclusions. With this in mind, it's a good idea to attempt relaxation techniques or even meditation before making big decisions. If you aren't careful, you might allow stress to push you into bad decisions that will leave you feeling even more stressed.



One of the most serious symptoms of stress is substance abuse that we all know has serious consequences. If you get into the habit of drinking or taking a drug, including legal prescription drugs, whenever you feel stressed out, this can easily lead to a habit or a serious addiction. The temptation to drink alcohol and take illegal drugs is admittedly difficult to resist especially during times of unbearable stress but these are not the best solutions - temporary but not the best ones. If your days are punctuated by these activities of substance abuse, you are well advised to seek help immediately before your life takes a turn for the worse.

although there are many symptoms of stress there are also quite a few ways of managing stress and treating it's symptoms before it's too late. Treating your stress is important but more important is doing something about what's causing those symptoms. You can't just mask the symptoms without getting to the bottom of what's causing them. If you find effective ways to deal with the underlying cause, you can improve the quality of your life in many ways.
